Below is a list of (some) scholarships (and more) that may be available to spouses and/or other family members

For Veteran Dependents, Spouses, and Unmarried Surviving Spouses (See Plans A-D)

For Veterans, Active Duty, Guard and Reserve; their Spouses as well as their Children and Grandchildren

Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) Education Foundation

For Spouses, Children (Biological, Step or Adoptive), Grandchildren, and Great-Grandchildren (dependent on scholarship) of the following: 

  1. Affiliated with the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard through one's own service or that of a spouse, parent, grand or great-grandparent, and

  2. A U.S. citizen and full-time student at an accredited U.S. trade school, community college, college or university

Chief Petty Officer Scholarship Fund

For a Dependent Child (Natural/Adopted), Step-Child, or a Non-Uniformed Spouse of one of the following:

  1. US Navy Active Duty, Retired, Honorably Discharge, Reserve, or

  2. A deceased Chief, Senior Chief, or Master Chief Petty Officer of the United States Navy

Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation

For a Dependent Child or Step-Child of one of the following:

  1. Active Duty, Reserve or Honorably Discharged Veteran U.S. Marine, or

  2. A Marine killed while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps, or

  3. An Active Duty, Reserve, or Honorably Discharged Veteran U.S. Navy Corpsman, Navy Chaplain or Religious Program Specialist who is or was attached to a U.S. Marine Corps unit or who was killed while serving in a U.S. Marine Corps unit

Children of the Fallen

For the following eligible children:  

  1. Children of Marine and Veteran Marines whose parent was killed in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001, or

  2. Children of Marines or Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains or Religious Program Specialists attached to a Marine unit who were killed in combat operations or during a Department of Defense Operation, training exercise, or domestic terrorist incident on or after September 11, 2001, or

  3. Children of Marines, Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains or Religious Program Specialists attached to a Marine unit who parent died by suicide as a result of combat related Post-Traumatic Stress

Children of the Wounded

For the following eligible children:  

  1. Children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains or Religious Program Specialists attached to a Marine unit who were wounded in action in any war or conflict, or

  2. Children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains or Religious Program Specialists attached to a Marine unit who were permanently retired from the Marine Corps or Navy as a result of their service related injury, or

  3. Children of Marines and Navy Corpsmen, Chaplains or Religious Program Specialists attached to a Marine unit whose parents is currently ill or injured and serving with Wounded Warrior Regiment/Battalion

For a Dependent Child or Grandchild with the following: 

  1. A current or former Naval Aviator, Naval Flight Officer, or Air-Crewman, or

  2. A child/grandchild of individuals who served aboard a U.S, and

  3. Accepted for undergraduate enrollment at an accredited college

For Spouses (Veteran/Active-Duty/Surviving), Active-Duty Service Members, and Veterans:

  1. From all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces including the National Guard who have served in both pre- and post-9/11 era

Arnold Education Grant

For Dependent Children (Under 24 Years) of U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force members with one of the following:

  1. Active Duty, Title 10 Reserve and Guard on extended active duty, and Title 32 Guard performing full-time active duty through December 1 of the academic year, or

  2. Retired due to length of active duty service or disability, or

  3. Retired AGR/Reserve with 20+ satisfactory service years creditable for retired pay and place on the Air Force or Space Force Reserve Retired List (no other retired classifications are considered eligible), or

  4. Deceased member who died while on active duty or in retired status

 

For Spouses of U.S. Air Force or U.S. Space Force members with one of the following: ​

  1. Active Duty, Title 10 Reserve and Guard on extended active duty, and Title 32 Guard performing full-time active duty through December 1 of the academic year, or

  2. Surviving spouses of Air Force and Space Force members who died while on active duty or in retired status
