Medication Information
RxISK is a free, independent drug safety website to research and report side effects. No one knows side effects like the person actually taking the medication. Use this website to information yourself on the drugs you are being prescribed. If you are experiencing side effects, be sure to report them to your provider or, if warranted, call 9-1-1, and then contribute it to the RxISK database.
You do NOT need a "Gold Membership" to get discounted pricing! Just sign up for your free account and you are good to get started. No insurance is required. The discounts are accepted at over 70,000 pharmacy locations. GoodRx also has a free downloadable app that you can check out as well!
Preventing Medication Mishaps is a brief two page handout of ways a person can prevent issues from happening when taking medication, especially regarding the potential interactions between medications, vitamins, supplements, and food.
The Veterans Health Library provides a comprehensive drug reference that answers medication questions about prescriptions, over the counter products, and nutraceuticals (such as vitamins and minerals). When searching drugs in the drug reference, some things that are noted are: important warnings; why a medication may be prescribed; how the medication should be taken; if there are any other uses for the medication; if there are any special precautions someone should follow; if there may be any special dietary considerations; what to do if someone misses a dose; potential side effects; how to store/dispose of the medication; what to do in the case of an overdose; and if there is any other information they feel you should know.
